Gunfire was reported earlier on Wednesday near the US Embassy in Awkar, with the reasons for the incident still unknown. Following the gunfire, the Lebanese Army closed the road leading to the embassy in Dbayeh. The US Embassy posted on "X" platform: "At 8:34 am, gunfire from light weapons was reported near the entrance of the US Embassy. Thanks to the swift response of the Lebanese Army, Internal Security Forces, and our embassy's security team, our facilities and personnel are safe. Investigations are ongoing, and we are in close contact with the relevant authorities in the host country." Source: National news agency - Lebanon
