Muscat: A session of political talks between the Sultanate of Oman and the Russian Federation was held today in Muscat. The Omani delegation was led by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while the Russian delegation was headed by Georgy Borisenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
According to Oman News Agency, both sides reviewed the existing bilateral relations and emphasized their commitment to further developing and enhancing cooperation across economic, cultural, and scientific fields. The discussions highlighted the importance of expanding mutual interests and fostering closer ties between the two nations.
The talks also focused on current regional developments, with both parties exploring ways to reach understandings aimed at preventing escalation and resolving contentious issues through diplomatic and peaceful means. This approach reflects the shared desire for stability and peace in the region.
The session was attended by Munther Mahfoudh Al Manthari, Head of the Europe Department at the Foreign Ministry, Oleg Levin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Sultanate of Oman, and several officials from both sides, underscoring the significance of the discussions for both countries.
