GAZA CITY: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has issued a stark warning about the escalating risk of famine in the Gaza Strip, where residents are grappling with severe food insecurity and a critical shortage of humanitarian aid amid the ongoing conflict with Israel. The agency emphasized the urgent need for international intervention and called for a ceasefire to facilitate the delivery of life-saving assistance.

According to Oman News Agency, UNRWA highlighted through a series of posts on the social platform X that its teams are tirelessly working to distribute aid to those in need. However, the efforts have proven insufficient in addressing the dire circumstances faced by the people of Gaza, who are experiencing extreme food insecurity as supplies dwindle. The agency stressed that without immediate action, the humanitarian crisis could deteriorate further.
