TEHRAN: The Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors, including economy, trade, energy, transport, and tourism. This commitment was announced during a joint press conference held in Tehran, featuring Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Oman's Foreign Minister, and Dr. Abbas Araqchi, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs.

According to Oman News Agency, Sayyid Badr emphasized the agreement between the two nations to implement practical measures aimed at strengthening trade and investment ties. This includes increasing the volume of inter-trade and facilitating transport, shipping, and travel. He highlighted the significance of collaborating on food security and health projects.

Sayyid Badr also mentioned that the press conference addressed regional and international developments, stressing the need for enhanced diplomatic efforts and constructive dialogue to tackle existing regional challenges. The discussions underscored the importance of finding sustainable solutions to regional conflicts while respecting national sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs. The overarching goal, he noted, is to boost regional stability and achieve lasting peace.

The Palestinian cause was a significant topic during the conference, with both sides expressing support for the Palestinian people's legitimate rights and aspirations for freedom, independence, security, and peace. Additionally, the ministers highlighted the necessity of respecting Syria and Lebanon's national sovereignty while supporting stability and development efforts in these countries.

Dr. Abbas Araqchi praised Oman's role in promoting regional stability and fostering bilateral and international cooperation. The press conference concluded with both ministers agreeing to maintain communication and joint coordination on various issues, aiming to achieve shared interests and enhance peace and stability regionally and globally.
