Khartoum: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Abdullah Yahya described Sudan-China relations as deeply rooted in history and built on strong foundations of strategic partnership and mutual benefit.
According to Sudan News Agency, Yahya addressed a ceremony marking the popular Sudanese initiative to thank the People's Republic of China-its government and people-organized by the Peoples' Friendship Association in coordination with the Popular Friendship Council. He reaffirmed Sudan's respect for the 'One China' principle and praised China's supportive positions toward Sudan during times of crisis in defense of its sovereignty.
Speaking at the event held under the slogan 'Sudan and China: A Strategic Partnership,' the TSC Member noted that China is Sudan's largest trading partner and has played a pivotal role in developing the country's oil sector. He also highlighted China's contributions to infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, dams, and power generation stations.
Abdullah Yahya called on Chinese companies, financial institutions, and business leaders to increase investment in Sudan and establish partnerships with their Sudanese counterparts, assuring full government support for such initiatives. He added that the challenges facing Sudan constitute a 'blatant aggression' targeting civilians and national assets due to what he described as 'greed for resources.'
The TSC Member concluded by inaugurating the accompanying exhibition.
