Muscat: The Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED) today organized its 9th dialogue session, which focused on means of enhancing investments of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups in the transport, logistics, and information technology (IT) sectors.
According to Oman News Agency, the session dealt with three main objectives: enhancing the approach of partnership and integration among SMEs and the parties concerned, improving the business environment and its attractiveness to the SMEs, and contributing to the development of policies that support entrepreneurs and SMEs.
The latest statistics issued by ASMED indicate that the total number of SMEs in the transport and logistics sector stood at 31,044 by the end of December 2024. As many as 1,162 SMEs deal with developing computer networks, while 825 SMEs operate in designing and programming special software, and 807 SMEs engage in network maintenance.
