MSX General Index Declines Despite Increased Trading Value


Muscat: Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) general index (30) experienced a decline today, dropping 22.7 points, which represents a 0.50% decrease, closing at 4545.21 points. This marks a downturn from the previous session’s close of 4565.88 points.



According to Oman News Agency, the trading value today saw a significant rise, reaching RO 3,752,065, which is an increase of 28.6% compared to the last session’s value of RO 2,916,496. Despite the increase in trading activity, the overall market value decreased by 0.204%, standing at approximately RO 27.54 billion.



The report released by MSX highlighted activities by non-Omani investors, indicating that the value of shares purchased by them amounted to RO 633,000, making up 16.88% of the trading. Conversely, the value of shares sold by non-Omani investors was RO 1,295,000, comprising 34.52% of the trading. As a result, the net non-Omani investment witnessed a decline of 17.64%, totaling RO 662,000.
