Oman, Qatar Issue Joint Communiqu© on State Visit


Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, commended the growth of relations and mutual interests. They stressed the significance of expanding vistas of cooperation by exploring more opportunities and encouraging the public and private sectors to diversify areas of economic and investment partnership to meet the aspirations of the two countries’ peoples.



According to Oman News Agency, a joint communiqu© was issued on the occasion of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s state visit to the Sultanate of Oman on January 28 and 29, 2025. The communiqu© highlights the deep-rooted historical ties and close fraternal bonds between the two nations’ leaders. It emphasizes the importance of enhancing relations and lauds the successful talks held during the visit, which focused on expanding cooperation and economic partnership.



The visit witnessed the signing of several memoranda of understanding and executive programmes covering areas of mutual interest. Both sides praised the efforts of the Omani-Qatari Joint Committee in enhancing bilateral cooperation and stressed the need for continued development of new partnership areas.



The leaders also discussed the progress and accomplishments of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and stressed the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully. They highlighted the need for dialogue and international cooperation to support regional and global security and stability.



The communiqu© expressed hope for a peaceful resolution to the Gaza conflict and applauded Qatar’s mediation role in achieving sustainable calm in the region. The leaders emphasized the importance of supporting Syria’s stability and security and welcomed steps to ensure civilian safety.



At the conclusion of the visit, Sheikh Tamim expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality, while Sultan Haitham wished further prosperity for Qatar and its people.
