Muscat: The first meeting aimed at forming a national working team to address the implementation of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, and Stockpiling of Bacteriological and Toxin Weapons was held today. The gathering was chaired by the Director of Operational Requirements at the Command of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (COSAF) and included advisors and specialists from military, security units, and relevant government departments.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting focused on various topics related to the agenda of implementing the convention. The international agreement is a key component in the global effort towards disarmament and the prevention of weapons of mass destruction. It seeks to bolster international security and peace. Oman joined this significant convention following Royal Decree (17/92).
