Kuwait City: Represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, the Sultanate of Oman participated in the ninth meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee for Food Safety, hosted by the State of Kuwait. Oman’s delegation was led by Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting addressed the GCC unified food law (system) and the GCC guide on monitoring imported foods, among other critical issues. On the sidelines, Dr. Al Habsi met with Hisham Saad Al Jadhey, CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), to discuss various collaborative opportunities.
The meeting also explored strategies for enhancing joint cooperation and knowledge transfer. It emphasized learning from global systems of food safety implementation and fostering trade exchanges between member countries.
