GLOBIS University Opens Regional Office in Muscat as Hub for Middle East Activities

Muscat:The Regional Office of Japan's GLOBIS University for the Middle East was inaugurated today in Muscat, establishing Oman as the regional hub for the university's activities in its first presence in the region. The inauguration ceremony was held under the patronage of Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs.

According to Oman News Agency, the University chose Oman as a base for its Middle East expansion due to years of cooperation in leadership development and education and in appreciation of Oman's emphasis on developing national talent and diversifying its economy. This aligns with Oman Vision 2040, making Muscat a natural base for the university's regional expansion.

Sheikh Khalifa highlighted Oman's commitment to advancing its education sector, especially higher education, and noted that the opening of GLOBIS University's office reflects the global confidence in Oman's stability and opportunities. He emphasized that the university will offer opportunities for higher education, particularly in leadership development, decision-making, and entrepreneurship.

The inauguration marks a milestone in cooperation that began in June 2024, with memoranda of understanding signed between GLOBIS Japan and Europe and the Royal Academy of Management. This was followed by a training program in Japan and ongoing collaborations, including an investment dialogue involving GLOBIS Capital Partners and Oman Investment Authority.

The GLOBIS Middle East Office in Muscat, established last June, will provide corporate education programmes, MBA courses, and leadership development, fostering connections between institutions and leaders in Oman and the region with the global GLOBIS ecosystem.

The inauguration ceremony included a visual presentation on Omani-Japanese relations, and a seminar titled 'Entrepreneurship in the Age of AI The Vision Behind Japan's No. 1 MBA' was delivered by Yoshito Hori, Founder and President of GLOBIS, targeting professionals, students, and entrepreneurs.
