Caretaker Minister of Energy and Water, Dr. Walid Fayyad, received a call today from his Algerian counterpart Mohamed Arkab, during which he expressed his country's desire, under the directives of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to support Lebanon in securing fuel quantities to overcome its crisis. This will be through a grant of gas oil to be extended to Lebanon, the quantity of which will be determined according to the talks that both parties will conduct. Minister Fayyad expressed his great appreciatuon for Algeria's initiative, "which has always stood by Lebanon and has spared no effort, as a state, people and institutions, to contribute to its rescue and assistance in its crises, just like brotherly Iraq, which stands in solidarity with Lebanon in all its crises and continues to provide it with fuel to ensure the energy sector's rise."
