Beijing: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called on Pakistan to intensify its mediation efforts between Iran and the United States and to help restore maritime navigation in the Middle East. Wang spoke by phone with Pakistan's counterpart, Ishaq Dar, China's Xinhua News Agency reported.
According to Oman News Agency, Wang Yi emphasized China's continued support for Pakistan's mediation efforts and stated that China would make its own contributions to the peace process. This call for increased diplomatic activity comes as President Donald Trump is expected to arrive in China, highlighting Beijing's role as a key strategic and economic partner of Tehran.
In a statement, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry affirmed the importance of maintaining a lasting ceasefire and ensuring the normal continuation of maritime navigation. The collaboration between China and Pakistan aims to stabilize the region and facilitate dialogue between Iran and the United States.
