Riyadh: The Sultanate of Oman participated today in the emergency meeting of the GCC Interior Ministers, led by Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior. The meeting took place at the GCC Secretariat General headquarters, focusing on security developments, joint coordination among member states, and enhancing Gulf security cooperation to address current challenges and contribute to the region's security and stability.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting emphasized the significance of unifying efforts and exchanging information and expertise among security agencies. These efforts are expected to advance the path of joint Gulf action and preserve the achievements of the member states.
Sayyid Hamoud was welcomed at the GCC Secretariat General headquarters by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif Al Saud, Minister of Interior of Saudi Arabia, and Jassim Mohamed Al Budaiwi, GCC Secretary General. The meeting was also attended by Maj. Gen Abdullah bin Ali Al Harthy, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Operations.
It is noteworthy that Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi arrived at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh earlier today. His arrival was met by Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Battal, Deputy Minister of Interior of Saudi Arabia, Najib bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Ambassador of Oman to Saudi Arabia; Brigadier Hamad bin Ajlan Al Amimi, GCC Assistant Secretary General for Security Affairs, and several Saudi officials.
