Muscat: The Financial Services Authority (FSA) and Muscat University have entered into a three-year cooperation programme aimed at developing human capital, advancing research, and strengthening collaboration in capital markets, insurance, and innovation. The agreement was signed by Ahmed bin Ali Al Mamari, Executive Vice President of the FSA, and Professor Dr. Khamis bin Hamad Al Yahyaei, President of Muscat University.
According to Oman News Agency, Al Mamari emphasized that the signing of this cooperation programme reflects FSA's commitment to collaborating with higher education institutions. This partnership aims to contribute to a shared understanding of market requirements and educational needs while supporting joint research and innovation projects among government entities, the private sector, and higher education institutions in Oman.
Professor Dr. Al Yahyaei highlighted that the FSA is a key strategic partner for Muscat University. He noted that past collaborations have included student training, studies on insurance programmes, and initiatives to support the development of the capital market. The new agreement represents a significant step toward enhancing human capacities and national resources in line with Oman Vision 2040. It aims to equip university students with future skills and competencies required by the financial services sector.
Dr. Al Yahyaei also mentioned that the partnership will expand opportunities for students to engage in innovation and entrepreneurship within the capital market and insurance sectors. This initiative is expected to enhance students' competitiveness both locally and internationally, positively impacting the quality of education and training. It also supports the university's ongoing development efforts.
