Amsterdam: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands exchanged orders and commemorative gifts at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam today on the occasion of His Majesty’s state visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
According to Oman News Agency, His Majesty the Sultan conferred the “Al Said Order” on King Willem-Alexander, in recognition of the King and to highlight the advanced relations of cooperation and partnership between the two countries. His Majesty also awarded the ‘Oman First Order’ to Queen M¡xima and the ‘Renaissance of Oman 1st Class Order’ to Princess Catharina-Amalia, the Princess of Orange and heir apparent to the throne of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Additionally, Royal orders were conferred on some senior officials in the Netherlands.
King Willem-Alexander bestowed upon His Majesty the Sultan the ‘Order of the Lion of the Netherlands’, the oldest and most prestigious civilian order of chivalry in the Netherlands, to commend His Majesty and acknowledge the distinguished relations between the two countries. The Netherlands Monarch also awarded Royal orders to Her Highness the Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed Al Busaidi, Spouse of the Sultan of Oman, and members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty.
In addition, the two leaders exchanged commemorative gifts as a symbol of their mutual respect and the strong ties between Oman and the Netherlands.
