Muscat: HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, presided over a pivotal meeting of the main committee responsible for overseeing the Sultanate of Oman's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan. The meeting, held in Muscat, focused on reviewing the final preparations for Oman's pavilion, which is nearing the completion of its construction phase, alongside the initiation of experimental activities within the pavilion.
According to Oman News Agency, HH Sayyid Theyazin, who chairs the Main Committee, expressed appreciation for the efforts made by both the Committee and the Commission to ensure the pavilion's readiness. He emphasized the importance of Oman's participation in the global event, underscoring that it should reflect the nation's distinct status on the international stage.
To support the Sultanate's pavilion, the Commission has successfully signed sixteen agreements, with the ceremony attended by the Main Committee and CEOs of various contributing establishments and companies, such as St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat Resort. Sayyid Said bin Sultan Al Busaidi, the Commissioner General of the Oman Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, executed the agreements alongside representatives from the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED), Oman Environmental Services Holding Company (Be'ah), ITHCA Group, Onsor Technologies LLC, as well as other public and private sector entities.
The meeting featured a visual presentation detailing Oman's preparations for Expo 2025 Osaka and the design of the pavilion. Additionally, a briefing was provided on the collaborative efforts between Oman and Japan, highlighting the rights and privileges that will be granted to the supporting entities during Oman's participation in Expo Osaka 2025.
Expo 2025 Osaka, themed 'Designing Future Society for Our Lives,' is slated to take place from April 13 to October 13, 2025, on Yumeshima Island in Osaka Bay. The global exposition will see participation from various countries, emphasizing innovation, technological advancements, and discussions aimed at addressing global challenges.
