Bahrain, represented by Major General Dr. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Chief of Public Security, chaired the second meeting of Arab ministers on disaster risk reduction at the Arab League headquarters in Egypt. Major General Dr. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed emphasised Bahrain's commitment to enhancing Arab integration in disaster risk reduction, guided by the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He underscored the priority of maintaining security and public safety under the leadership of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior. He highlighted Bahrain's focus on disaster risk reduction as part of its vision for sustainability and regional cooperation, mentioning the national emergency strategy and the launch of the National Civil Protection Platform in 2023.
