WHO Delegation Visits Snaibi’ Health Village in Al-Awabi, South Al Batinah.


Al-Awabi: A delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) today visited important development projects and health initiatives, including Snaibi’ Health Village in the Wilayat of Al Awabi, South Al Batinah Governorate. The visit was aimed at soliciting public opinions about the best ways to support and implement such initiatives in a manner that suits the social environment.

According to Oman News Agency, the WHO team conferred with members of the Village Development Committee and sought measures to upgrade the standards of such initiatives in line with the goals of sustainable development, strategies, and plans of the World Health Organization. The meeting was held in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Salim Al Mandhari, Undersecretary for Planning and Health Regulation at the Ministry of Health, and Dr. Jean Yacoub Jabbour, WHO Representative in the Sultanate of Oman.

The visit program also included a visual presentation on the developmental tasks undertaken by Snaibi’ Health Village over the past years. The
cost of initiatives exceeded RO 100,000. An exhibition held on the sidelines of the visit showcased the prominent handicraft vocations practiced by the villagers.
