Muscat: The activities of the second Hajj and Umrah Conference and Exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, commenced today. The event serves as a platform bringing together all partners from Hajj and Umrah service providers within and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
According to Oman News Agency, the three-day event is being held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center and features participation from government entities, the private sector, and Hajj and Umrah companies. The second Hajj and Umrah Conference and Exhibition aims to enhance partnership among all Hajj and Umrah stakeholders within and outside Oman to showcase their products and services for the pilgrims. It seeks to provide and enhance opportunities for competition among service providers for Omani pilgrims, encourage creativity and innovation, deliver quality services to pilgrims, and simplify the methods of presenting these services. Additionally, it aims to enrich the knowledge, historical, documentary, scientific, cultural, and legal aspects through qualitative and diverse programs accompanying the exhibition.
A number of agreements with the private sector were signed during the exhibition. Several accompanying events are also being held on its sidelines, most notably the ‘Hajj Lab’ and a number of lectures on learning the rituals and objectives of Hajj, as well as an introductory lecture about the systems and services provided for pilgrims.
