Muscat: The second edition of Oman Endowment Conference 2025 will commence on 9 December with the theme ‘Role of Endowments in Promoting Economic Diversification’. The two-day event is organized by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs along with the Bousher Endowment Foundation and is set to take place at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
According to Oman News Agency, Dr. Ahmed Ali Al Kaabi, Director General of Endowments, Funds, Mosque Construction and Quran Schools at the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, emphasized the shared responsibility in empowering the endowments sector. He highlighted that initiatives by endowment institutions are rooted in society, which assumes responsibility for self-management and self-construction.
Al Kaabi stated that such conferences provide a platform for exchanging expertise, presenting specialized studies, and launching initiatives that align the endowment sector with modern needs. Malik Hilal Al Yahmadi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bousher Endowment Foundation, remarked on the momentum gained from the first edition’s success, which drew significant attention from stakeholders and experts both from Oman and internationally.
The upcoming conference aims to engage participants from GCC states and other regional countries, fostering cooperation and offering opportunities for knowledge exchange in investment. Eng. Mohammed Salim Al Busaidi, a Board Member of Bousher Endowment Foundation, noted that the conference seeks to develop the endowment sector’s role in supporting sustainable development and the national economy.
The conference will gather executive leaders, experts, and representatives from government, private establishments, and endowment institutions to discuss challenges, review experiences, and propose innovative solutions. Al Busaidi mentioned that these discussions aim to maximize the impact of endowments in serving communities and enhancing national economies.
Moreover, the conference will delve into four sub-themes, focusing on endowments as a strategic tool for economic diversification, innovation in endowment investments, financial models in the Islamic economy, and the role of endowments in empowering entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprises. An exhibition showcasing products and services from endowment and investment institutions will also take place alongside the event.
Additionally, an updated version of the conference website was launched, allowing participants to register, access speakers’ papers, and follow conference sessions.
