The Russian Defense Ministry announced today it had shot down 28 Ukrainian drones that had attempted to target several regions in the country.
The Defense Ministry said in a statement that during the past night, 13 drones were shot down over the Volgograd Region, seven over the Rostov Region, four over the Belgorod Region, two over the Voronezh Region, one in the Bryansk Region and one in the Kursk Region.
Earlier today, Volgograd authorities reported that most of the drones that attacked the region in the Marinovka area last night were destroyed, adding that the fall of one of the drones caused a fire at a site belonging to the Ministry of Defense, without causing any casualties.
Ukraine has intensified drone attacks on Russian territory in recent months. Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022, and it does not appear that it is close to laying down its weapons, in light of Moscow’s emphasis on continuing its special operation until its goals are fully achieved.
