Royal Office Minister Engages with Japanese, Chinese Ambassadors and French Defense Chief

Muscat: Gen. Sultan Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office, welcomed several distinguished international diplomats and military officials in a series of meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation. The engagements included farewells and discussions on future collaborations.

According to Oman News Agency, Gen. Sultan Mohammed Al Nu’amani first met with Jota Yamamoto, the Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman, who visited to bid farewell at the end of his diplomatic tenure. During the meeting, the ambassador expressed his gratitude for the support and cooperation extended to him throughout his service. He praised the strong bilateral relations between Japan and Oman. In response, Al Nu’amani commended the ambassador’s efforts in enhancing the ties and wished him success in his future endeavors.

In a subsequent meeting, Gen. Sultan Mohammed Al Nu’amani received Lyu Jian, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Oman. During their discussion, Al Nu’amani conveyed his best wishes for the ambassador’s success in his responsibilities. The conversation also touched upon the ongoing bilateral relations between Oman and China. The Chinese ambassador expressed his commitment to furthering the partnership to benefit both nations.

Additionally, Gen. Sultan Mohammed Al Nu’amani met with Gen. Thierry Burkhard, the Chief of Defence Staff of the French Republic, and his accompanying delegation. The dialogue focused on exploring ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in areas that bolster the security of both countries. Both sides emphasized the longstanding historic relations between Oman and France. The meeting was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and the French ambassador to Oman.
