Muscat, The Royal Hospital will introduce an evening shift to ensure sustained service during weekends in its operating chambers that are active during official duty hours. The aim is to accommodate waiting lists of patients, now that the extraordinary conditions of coronavirus no longer prevail.
Dr. Aamid Khamis Al Araimi, Director of the Surgery Department at the Royal Hospital, said in a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA) that the step seeks to alleviate the suffering of patients on waiting lists and cut down waiting time in general.
The move reflects the hospital’s concern for patients, said Dr. Aamid, adding that the Surgery Department works alongside other units of the hospital within an integrate system of high standards, a system that provides the best service and ensures patient comfort and safety.
