Refineries’ sales increase 6% in July

MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman’s refineries sales increased by 18.6 per cent by the end of July 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, according to the latest data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

 

The production of (M-95) automobile fuel stood at 9,258,500 barrels, comprising a rise by 11.8 per cent compared to the same period in 2021. Sales of M-95 automobile fuel increased by 0.7 per cent to reach 7,239,600 barrels, while its exports surged by 93.1 per cent to reach 2,745,900 barrels.

 

The production of standard grade petrol (M-91) increased by 1.7 per cent to stand at 7,562,600 barrels compared to July 2021. Sales of M-91 petrol reached 7,235,900 barrels, comprising a rise by 54.9 per cent, while its exports went down by 69.8 per cent to reach 930,100 barrels.

 

Gas oil (diesel) output during July 2022 fell by 14.1 per cent compared to the same period in 2021 to stand at 18,220,900 barrels. Sales of diesel stood at 8,366,600 barrels, constituting a rise of 9 per cent, while its exports dropped by 29 per cent compared to the same period in 2021 to reach 9,423,000 barrels.

 

As far as petrochemicals are concerned, exports and production of polypropylene grew by 46.5 per cent and 19.7 per cent respectively, while its sales went down by 39.3 per cent.

 

Meanwhile, the production and exports of benzene fell by 79.1 per cent and 78.4 per cent respectively, by the end of July 2022. The production and exports of paraxylene also declined by 94.8 per cent and 93.3 per cent respectively, by the end of July 2022. — ONA
