Muscat: The Royal Academy of Management (RAM), in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, has launched the Leadership in Cultural and Creative Industries Programme. The pioneering initiative aims to strengthen leadership and management capabilities deemed essential for navigating the ever-evolving landscape of Oman’s cultural and creative sectors. This, in turn, will empower national talent and contribute to the development of an innovation-driven, knowledge-based economy in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
According to Oman News Agency, participants, who are executive leaders in the cultural and creative industries, will gain access to advanced knowledge and international best practices in leadership, cultural policy and legislation, governance, innovation management, intellectual property, and creative finance and investment. The programme also seeks to build a strong network of professionals and thought leaders driving growth and innovation within Oman’s cultural landscape.
Targeting senior executives from cultural institutions and creative organisations in Oman, the landmark programme aims to challenge participants’ thinking and the ways they approach their roles, while working on multiple levels to enhance their leadership capabilities. It will further deepen their knowledge as they are exposed to best practices and expertise in leadership, cultural policy and legislation, governance, innovation management, intellectual property, and creative finance and investment.
Dr. Fathiya Abdullah Al Rashdi, Vice President for Programme Affairs at the Royal Academy of Management, emphasized the commitment to elevating the skills and abilities of national leaders across various sectors in Oman. She noted that this pioneering initiative cultivates strategic thinking, fosters an innovation mindset, and stimulates investment in the creative economy, which are key drivers of economic growth and diversification.
Spanning ten days of intensive executive learning, the Leadership in Cultural and Creative Industries Programme will bring together a distinguished group of Directors General, heads of associations, and other influential figures from creative and cultural industries. The programme features specialised modules, interactive sessions, and applied projects, followed by a two- to three-month implementation phase where participants will apply theoretical concepts to practical leadership scenarios.
The programme’s curriculum is structured around six core pillars: the creative economy and sustainable development; governance and strategic management; cultural policy and legislation; innovation and talent empowerment; intellectual property; and creative finance and investment.
Hilal Al Sabti, Supervisor of the programme, highlighted the programme’s design to equip leaders with real-world tools tailored to the creative economy. It integrates theoretical frameworks with practical strategies, including workshops, case studies, and applied projects to reinforce innovation and productivity.
Al Sabti also remarked that the programme seeks to establish a national community of leaders capable of developing creative solutions and initiatives that advance the creative economy, further positioning Oman as a regional hub for culture and creativity.
RAM continues to operate within a clear strategic framework, delivering impactful programmes that cultivate national leadership and support national priorities across all sectors of Oman.
