Muscat: President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Turkiye and his spouse, Emine Erdogan, arrived in Oman for a two-day state visit to the Sultanate. His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik led the welcoming party, meeting the Turkish President at the Royal Airport. The Sultan expressed wishes for a successful visit and a pleasant stay for the delegation.
According to Oman News Agency, Her Highness the Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed Al Busaidi, the Sultan’s spouse, also welcomed the Turkish President and his spouse. A squadron of military aircraft from the Royal Air Force of Oman accompanied the Turkish jet upon entering Omani airspace, marking a warm welcome.
President Erdogan was received by several key Omani officials, including HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, and Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court. The reception included ministers and ambassadors from both nations, highlighting the significance of the visit.
Following the initial reception, His Majesty the Sultan and President Erdogan moved to the reception hall, passing a guard of honor. The motorcade then proceeded to Al Alam Palace, escorted by horse riders and accompanied by a mounted military music band.
Upon arrival at Al Alam Palace, artillery fired a 21-gun salute, and the Royal Guard of Oman played a welcoming tune. The national anthem of Turkiye was played as President Erdogan stood at the dais of honor with His Majesty the Sultan.
His Majesty shook hands with the Turkish delegation, while President Erdogan greeted members of the Royal Family and Omani ministers. The Turkish President’s delegation includes key officials such as Necmettin Bilal Erdogan, Hakan Fidan, and Mehmet Hakimoglu, emphasizing the importance of the diplomatic visit.
