Oman, Somalia Review Cooperation Prospects, Investment Opportunities

Muscat: Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA), welcomed Abdusalam Abdi Ali, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, along with his delegation, at his office today. The Somali delegation is on an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

According to Oman News Agency, the meeting focused on reviewing the current cooperation between Oman and Somalia, with a goal of expanding these ties in line with the strategic priorities of both nations. The discussions delved into several promising investment opportunities across key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, logistics, food security, and information technology, which are of mutual interest to both countries.

The discussions also aimed at enhancing economic and investment partnerships, seeking to engage both public and private sectors in supporting these cooperative efforts. This is intended to foster sustainable development and pave the way for deeper economic integration between Oman and Somalia.

The meeting highlighted the necessity for ongoing coordination and knowledge exchange to strengthen bilateral relations and support shared interests effectively.
