Oman Showcases Smart City Innovations at Bahrain Summit

Manama: The Sultanate of Oman is actively participating in the ninth edition of the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit 2026, which began today, aiming to enhance cooperation and share expertise in innovation and smart technologies.

According to Oman News Agency, Oman is presenting five working papers throughout the two-day conference, focusing on themes related to the future of smart cities and sustainable urban development. These papers explore topics such as the role of decentralization in achieving sustainability, the use of smart technologies in residential buildings to boost resource efficiency and improve comfort and safety, and the impact of urban planning and environmental sustainability projects on public health. Additionally, discussions will cover sustainable municipal transformation within the framework of Oman Vision 2040, along with a dedicated paper on the North Al Batinah Green Initiative, which emphasizes environmental sustainability, afforestation, and the enhancement of green infrastructure.

Oman's involvement in the summit highlights its dedication to adopting innovative solutions and advancing smart city concepts. This effort supports sustainable development initiatives and aligns with global trends in urban development and quality-of-life enhancement.
