Oman Showcases Rich Cultural Heritage at Brunei Darussalam Book Fair 2024.


Bandar Seri Begawan: Represented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and the Ministry of Information, the Sultanate of Oman took part in the Brunei Darussalam Book Fair (Pesta Buku Brunei 2024) held in Bandar Seri Begawan from 2 to 11 November. Oman’s participation aimed to consolidate cultural ties with Brunei and celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

According to Oman News Agency, the event also affirmed a commitment to developing sustainable cooperation, notably in the fields of culture, serving as an ideal channel of communication and exchange of knowledge. The manuscripts’ wing in Oman’s pavilion received a large turnout of visitors, showcasing rare manuscripts that highlighted important aspects of Oman’s cultural history and the country’s contribution to intellectual development.

Interactive workshops were organized on the sidelines of the event, focusing on the art of Arabic calligraphy. These workshops enabled visitors to lear
n about the basics of ancient writing and related arts, reflecting Oman’s keenness to pass over such heritage to future generations.
