Oman Participates in GCC Financial Discussions in Kuwait


Kuwait city: The Sultanate of Oman took part in the 74th meeting of the Committee of GCC Undersecretaries of Ministries of Finance, convened in Kuwait. Leading the Omani delegation was Abdullah Salim Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance.



According to Oman News Agency, the undersecretaries engaged in discussions on a range of topics. These included the outcomes of meetings held by the Committee of Governors of GCC Central Banks, management aspects of the GCC Customs Union Authority, and insights from the Committee of Heads and Directors of Tax Administrations in the GCC. Further, the meeting addressed results from the Gulf Common Market Committee session.



The agenda also included updates on the technical progress of GCC free trade agreement negotiations and the signing and ratification process of the GCC payments connectivity agreement. Other focal points were studies and projects managed by the Economic and Development Affairs Authority office and the program aimed at achieving GCC economic unity by 2025. Additionally, the meeting reviewed updates from the 123rd meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee.
