Oman Participates in GCC Economic Affairs Meeting in Kuwait

Kuwait city: The Sultanate of Oman took part in the seventh meeting of the Permanent Preparatory Committee at the ministerial level for the Economic and Development Affairs Authority of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which was held in the State of Kuwait. The Omani delegation was led by Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy.

According to Oman News Agency, the meeting reviewed recommendations from the Committee of Senior Officials of the Economic and Development Affairs Authority. Key discussions centered on the stages of economic integration among GCC states, focusing on challenges faced by the Customs Union and the GCC Common Market. The aim was to achieve economic unity by identifying and addressing these challenges with suitable solutions.

The meeting also examined the plan and working mechanism for building the Gulf economic model and preparations for a Gulf conference and dialogue sessions scheduled in GCC countries next year. Other topics included economic and developmental projects within the framework of joint Gulf cooperation.

A working paper was presented during the meeting, exploring cooperation and integration among GCC states in the blue economy sector and in realizing the economic visions of the GCC countries. Additionally, a visual presentation showcased the detailed performance dashboard on the implementation level of the GCC Common Market and outcomes from the statistical survey measuring joint Gulf cooperation decisions.
