Muscat: Oman Games and eSports Committee has organized a two-day e-sports championship codenamed 'Al Qima' (summit), which concluded today. The championship saw the participation of 16 top players from different governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. According to Oman News Agency, the tournament aimed to engage national talents in the field of esports and highlight the growing trend of the sport in Oman. Lou'ay Al Saadi claimed victory by winning first place in the championship, while Saleh Al Ghasani secured the second award. The third position was bagged by Fahd Al Kindi. The closing ceremony was held under the auspices of Hisham bin Juma Al Sinani, Director General of Sportswelfare and Development at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth. Al Sinani felicitated the participants and commended the efforts made in organizing the tournament, which, he said, 'reflects growing keenness in developing the sector of e-sports and empowering Omani talents.' The championship, which was attended by media represe ntatives, embodied the spirit of sportsmanship and excellence.
