Oman Engages in GCC-ASEAN Ministerial Discussions in Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur: The Sultanate of Oman participated in a GCC-ASEAN ministerial meeting held in Kuala Lumpur, aimed at preparing for the forthcoming GCC-ASEAN Summit. Oman's delegation was led by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs.

According to Oman News Agency, Al Harthy delivered a speech emphasizing the effectiveness of cooperation between GCC and ASEAN countries, especially amidst current global challenges. He highlighted the importance of solidarity and joint action in areas such as food security, energy, the economy, and supply chains. Al Harthy reiterated Oman's commitment to strengthening ties with regional and international partners and fostering cooperation with ASEAN nations, citing the historical and maritime connections shared with these countries, which can enhance economic, cultural, and developmental integration.
