Oman and UAE Discuss Enhanced Collaboration in Economic and Industrial Sectors

Abu dhabi: Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), met with Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. The primary focus of the meeting was to explore ways to strengthen cooperation in the areas of economic zones, free zones, and industrial cities between Oman and the UAE.

According to Oman News Agency, the discussions during the meeting included a comprehensive review of potential economic cooperation and integration opportunities between the economic and free zones of both countries. The agenda also covered investment prospects in the industrial and logistics sectors, as well as the exploration of advanced technologies.

In addition to the meeting with Sheikh Mansour, Al Yousef held discussions with Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism of the UAE, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Said Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority. The meetings also involved several officials, investors, and entrepreneurs from various economic sectors.

The discussions were aimed at enhancing economic and investment cooperation, exchanging expertise and knowledge in the development of economic and free zones, advanced industrial technologies, and lifestyle models in economic cities. The emphasis was also on identifying best practices for improving the business environment to support the competitiveness of economic zones and attract high-value investments and regional supply chains.

Additionally, a meeting was conducted with the operating company of Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone. The discussion focused on project developments, exploring required support mechanisms, and strategies to enhance local added value.
