Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Sudan today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in the fields of transport, logistics, railways, ports, and maritime affairs. The MoU also covers training and the exchange of information and technical expertise between the two countries.
According to Oman News Agency, the MoU was signed by Eng. Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, and Saif Al Nasr Al Tijani, Minister of Infrastructure and Transport in the Republic of Sudan. The agreement is part of efforts to develop a partnership aimed at expanding cooperation in all areas related to transport and logistics, with the primary objective of boosting economic development.
The agreement places emphasis on facilitating the exchange of personnel specialized in training and professional growth. Additionally, it includes provisions for organizing visits and meetings between the two nations to explore successful experiences and exchange information about transport and logistics sectors, including air transport, maritime transport, and rail transport.
