Oman and Russia Explore Economic and Investment Opportunities


Moscow: A delegation from Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) is currently visiting the Russian Federation to participate in the Moscow-Oman Business Forum. The meetings are aimed at enhancing economic and investment cooperation between the two friendly countries.



According to Oman News Agency, the delegation is led by Eng. Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al Hosni, a board member and the Chairman of the OCCI Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence Committee. During their visit, they toured the Skolkovo Innovation Foundation, Russia’s main innovation center, and were briefed on technology projects and startups being developed there. The delegation also visited Russian companies and factories in the fields of advanced technology, mining, and logistics services.



At the forum, the Omani delegation presented several working papers, including “The Power of Algorithms: Strategies Towards a World of Artificial Intelligence” and “The Conscience of Robots: Artificial Intelligence, Data and Ethics.” They participated in a session titled “From Moscow to the Middle East: A Net Partnership” and engaged in discussions with Russian companies about cooperation and investment opportunities.



The delegation also met with members of the Omani Embassy in Moscow, including Mohammed Al Habsi, Deputy Ambassador of Oman to Russia. The meeting reviewed the outcomes of the visits to Russian companies and explored future cooperation in software, advanced digital technologies, and other sectors.



Further discussions were held with the Moscow Chamber, led by Vladimir Platonov, who praised the Omani-Russian economic relations, which will mark their 40th anniversary in November 2025. Both sides emphasized the importance of organizing regular meetings between the countries’ chambers to enhance cooperation. Russian companies gave presentations on their activities and potential cooperation with Omani companies.



Eng. Ibrahim Al Hosni highlighted that the OCCI’s participation in these events and meetings is a step towards developing economic and investment partnerships between Oman and Russia. He noted that the positive outcomes of the visit will strengthen trade relations and aid in developing cooperation in advanced technology, the digital economy, and various industrial sectors.
