Oman and Armenia Strengthen Bilateral Relations Through New Agreements

Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of Oman, held an official session of talks with Ararat Mirzoyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, focusing on enhancing cooperation between the two nations.

According to Oman News Agency, the discussions centered on reviewing and nurturing the friendship and cooperation relations between Oman and Armenia across multiple fields. Both sides agreed to frame these relations through future agreements and memoranda of understanding, aiming to enhance mutual interests and expand the scope of bilateral cooperation.

The ministers also exchanged views on regional developments, underscoring the need for dialogue and diplomatic efforts. They emphasized support for initiatives aimed at de-escalation and reducing tensions, contributing to regional security and stability and promoting peaceful resolutions.

As part of efforts to strengthen consultation and coordination mechanisms, the two foreign ministers signed a memorandum of understanding between their respective ministries on political consultations, furthering institutional cooperation and dialogue.

The meeting saw participation from Oman's side by Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs; Sheikh Dr. Sulaiman bin Saud Al Jabri, Head of the Legal Department; and Munther bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Head of the Europe Department. Representing Armenia were Vahan Kostanyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Hrachya Poladian, Ambassador to Oman; along with other officials.
