Muscat: The 6th edition of the International Trade Exhibition for Agriculture, Food and Fisheries 'Oman AgroFood' kicked off today. The three-day event focuses on the Sultanate of Oman's role in boosting regional food security and enhancing sustainable practices in the fields of agriculture and fisheries. According to Oman News Agency, the opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources. Dr. Al Habsi underscored the importance of the exhibition in giving an opportunity for private companies operating in the food industry sector to visit the exhibition and view the experiences of other countries and companies. The event also helps these companies in being introduced to the latest technologies in the same field. Oman AgroFood aims to support innovation and to adopt latest technologies in the fields of agriculture, fisheries and water resources, as well as exploring related investment opportunities.
