Oil Prices Drop as US Moves to Free Stranded Middle East Vessels

Brent: Brent crude futures for July delivery fell 2 percent following US President Donald Trump's announcement of the initiation of efforts to free stranded vessels in the Middle East, according to trading data.

According to Oman News Agency, Brent declined 2.09 percent from the previous closing price to $105.91 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude for July delivery fell 1.82 percent to $100.10 per barrel.

The decline follows two weeks of volatile trading during which prices surged to record levels, exceeding $120 per barrel.
