OETC participates in International Green Energy Conference 2023

Muscat: Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) is participating in the International Green Energy Conference 2023 in the Sultanate of Oman. The event is being organised by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Salalah, Dhofar Governorate on February 15 and 16.

The participation comes as part of the company’s efforts to contribute to global efforts to reduce carbon pollution and shift to clean energy.

A number of researchers from Oman and other parts of the world are participating in the conference.

The discussions will focus on the challenges in energy transmission and modern technologies, the importance of collective work besides strengthening cooperation among countries in the field of sustainability and green energy. In addition, the conference will be reviewing key performance indicators (KPI) for low-efficiency carbon buildings and other research papers.

It is worth mentioning that, OETC is the only company responsible for the transmission and control of electricity in the Sultanate’s network, where electricity is transferred from production stations to distributed load centres in all governorates of the Sultanate, and the transmission network operates at a voltage of 132 kV and above, to cover most of the governorates of the Sultanate, whether in the north or the south. In addition, OETC manages the interconnection lines between the Sultanate and the Gulf interconnection network with a voltage of 220 kV.
