NASA has announced plans for UVEX (UltraViolet EXplorer), a cutting-edge space telescope slated for launch in 2030. This mission, part of NASA's Astrophysics Medium-Class Explorer programme, aims to conduct a comprehensive survey of ultraviolet light across the entire sky. UVEX will provide crucial insights into the evolution of galaxies and stars, enhancing our understanding of the cosmos. Equipped with advanced capabilities, UVEX will swiftly detect and observe sources of ultraviolet light, including phenomena triggered by gravitational waves from merging neutron stars. Additionally, it will carry an ultraviolet spectrograph to study stellar explosions and massive stars. Source: Oman News Agency
