Al Buraimi:The University of Al Buraimi hosted the 2026 National Conference on Ophthalmology and Ophthalmosurgery, organized by the Directorate General of Health Services in Al Buraimi Governorate and Al Buraimi Hospital in collaboration with the Ministry of Health.
According to Oman News Agency, the conference was part of events to observe World Sight Day, which begins on October 2 each year. The opening ceremony was attended by Salim Al Sunaidi, Wali of Al Buraimi.
The conference brought together 300 professionals from Oman and beyond to discuss the latest developments and practices in ophthalmology and eye surgery. Workshops on optometry were included, focusing on the latest updates and clinical solutions for keratoconus.
For the first time, the National Conference on Ophthalmology and Eye Surgery was held in Al Buraimi Governorate, marking its annual rotation among Oman’s governorates. The event provides a platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange among physicians and specialists, aiming to raise public awareness, highlight advancements in the field, enhance institutional integration, and support the ongoing enhancement of healthcare services in Oman.
