Major General Abbas Ibrahim received today in his office the Swiss Ambassador to Lebanon, Marion Weichelt. Weichelt discussed with Major General Ibrahim his hopes and expectations regarding the upcoming truce in Gaza and how it might affect Lebanon. Major General Ibrahim expressed his optimism about the first phase of any potential truce, if it takes place, which includes negotiations lasting six weeks concerning the hostages. He confirmed that this truce will certainly lead to calm and a ceasefire in southern Lebanon He added that a permanent ceasefire will end the spark of war in Gaza and southern Lebanon together.
