Leadership Forum Focuses on Future-Ready Government Strategies

Muscat:The "Leadership Forum for Future Readiness" concluded today, four months after its inception on 2 February 2026. The forum aimed to enhance the skills of top-ranking government officials and decision-makers under the theme "Irtiqaa" (Advancement). It was conducted as part of the National Digital Transformation Programme, in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Management, the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS), and the Oman Society for Human Resource Management (OSHRM).

According to Oman News Agency, the forum saw participation from several high-ranking officials, including ministers and other dignitaries from different government units. It focused on developing strategies for building future-ready governments, keeping pace with rapid technological transformations, and featuring institutional innovation. The discussions also centered on developing government operating models and services.

The forum included interactive sessions and strategic discussions on leadership's role in anticipating future transformations, rethinking service delivery models, and building the institutional capacity required to adapt to change. These efforts aimed to enhance government performance, improve user experience, and devise a "One Government" approach that places people at the heart of development.

Additionally, the forum addressed the shift from traditional processes and services to understanding the actual objectives beneficiaries aim to achieve. This involves applying the "Jobs to Be Done" methodology, aligning service design with the beneficiary's experience, and the supporting organizational processes.

The "Leadership Forum for Future Readiness" is a significant milestone within the "Irtiqaa" programme, ensuring that senior leadership is well-prepared to achieve the goals of "Oman Vision 2040".
