Muscat: Hosted by the Sultanate, meetings of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Statutory Congress kicked off in Muscat today. The meetings will last until 9 November 2024. According to Oman News Agency, the event, which will see the participation of 500 participants representing 141 countries, began today with FIH Executive Board meetings during which the conferees discussed several proposals aimed at advancing hockey globally. On the sidelines of the FIH Congress, a ceremony will be held to present Hockey Stars Awards on 8 November. On 9 November, a new board of directors for the FIH will be elected and its tenure lasts over the next four years. The participants will discuss a package of topics on the FIH Congress agenda, which will include Arab, continental, and international meetings.
