HM The Sultan to Visit Algeria Sunday


Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will go on a state-visit to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria this Sunday.



According to Oman News Agency, a statement was issued by the Diwan of Royal Court announcing the visit. The statement highlighted the historical relations between Oman and Algeria, noting that the visit is in response to an invitation from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria. It emphasizes the commitment of both countries’ leaderships to strengthen their fraternal ties.



During the visit, the leaders of Oman and Algeria will engage in discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation across various fields. The objective is to elevate bilateral relations to achieve desired goals and serve joint interests. Additionally, the leaders will exchange views on issues that promote joint Arab action and address regional and international developments.



His Majesty the Sultan will be accompanied by a high-ranking official delegation, including key figures such as HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, and Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court. The delegation also includes Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nuamani, Minister of the Royal Office, and Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, among others. The visit aims to bolster the cooperation between Oman and Algeria, fostering increased collaboration in multiple sectors.
