HM The Sultan Ratifies Amendments to International Maritime Convention and FAO Agreement

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued two Royal Decrees today, marking significant developments in international cooperation and maritime governance for Oman.

According to Oman News Agency, the first decree, Royal Decree No. (73/2025), involves the ratification of amendments to the Convention establishing the International Maritime Organization. This decree ensures that the competent departments will deposit the endorsement document in compliance with the amended provisions of the convention. The decree mandates its publication in the Official Gazette and immediate enforcement from its issue date.

The second decree, Royal Decree No. (74/2025), concerns the ratification of an agreement between the Government of Oman and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.
