Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Abdul Fattah el-Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt today discussed ongoing regional developments and their political and economic ramifications. During a telephone conversation, the two leaders stressed the importance of intensifying political and diplomatic efforts to steer U.S.-Iranian negotiations toward a resolution of the crisis, achieve de-escalation, and ensure the security of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Oman News Agency, the leaders affirmed that these efforts would support the consolidation of international peace and security in accordance with the principles of international law. The conversations highlighted the significance of diplomatic dialogue in addressing regional issues and maintaining stability.
