Muscat: HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, has issued a decision to form the team for the “Omani Cultural Laboratories” (OCL) project.
According to Oman News Agency, this initiative is a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the Cultural Club, and Bait Al Zubair Foundation. The project aims to foster initiatives, partnerships, and cooperation among various sectors to advance cultural activities both locally and internationally.
The OCL project aligns with the objectives of the Sultanate of Oman’s cultural strategy, particularly in promoting innovation, studies, and research that bolster creativity and development. It emphasizes the connection to cultural communication by facilitating the exchange of expertise within Oman and abroad, engaging in cultural dialogue with countries worldwide, and partnering with relevant local and international institutions.
The project seeks to reinforce cultural and civilizational collaboratio
ns and showcase the knowledge and efforts of the Omani people. This will be pursued through research projects, cultural programs, exhibitions, meetings, and other events that explore shared cognitive values in collaboration with cultural and academic institutions globally.
By directly overseeing the OCL project, the Ministry underscores its commitment to supporting joint cultural initiatives, integrating institutional efforts, and contributing to the effective representation of Omani identity. It aims to consolidate the Sultanate of Oman’s presence in regional and international cultural arenas, using cultural diplomacy as a strategic tool for global communication.
